Biography for Brett Machtig
For Brett, helping people make the most of their financial assets has been his passion for over 25 years. Brett enjoys guiding his clients as they implement strategies to meet their financial goals. As a trusted advisor, Brett uses the combined talents of our six CPAs, two attorneys, one CLU, one RIA, one CFA and two CFPs to create and manage his clients’ financial plans.
Brett’s team works together to provide clients with fee-based asset management services, estate planning and tax planning. His clients include retired individuals, 401(k) participants, key Fortune 500 executives, and hard-working families.
Have you ever wondered what was really going on in the world? Every year the United States Department of Defense invites community leaders and representatives from our nation’s allies to attend a week long program, called the National Securities Forum, along with representatives of our armed forces, FBI and Homeland Security. The program examines threats to our national security and what can be done about them. In 2010, Brett was selected to attend this prestigious program as the only representative from the financial services industry. Brett was also selected as the 2010 Honorary Commander, 33rd Operation Support Squadron, and Eglin AFB.
In 2001, Brett was honored as “Citizen of the Year” for the University of Tennessee, 2001 International Scholars Program, “For exceptional commitment and generosity to UTM. Brett donated extensively to support financial life-skills training in our colleges, and for computer skills training for at-risk youth.”
Brett is FINRA Securities licensed since 1985. He conducts advisory business as a Registered Investment Advisor with Machtig Advisory Services, LLC. and as a Investment Advisory Representative with Investors Capital Advisory. Brett is also licensed for insurance.
Brett attended Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, MBA Candidate in 1983 and attended Mac Murray College, and received his BS in Accounting, Business, and Economics. Brett was president of the Economics Society and graduated cum laude and is happily married and has three wonderful children. At 50, he is healthy and happy, and enjoys working and making a difference in the lives of his clients.
